Nationwide Children’s:
Keeping employees informed. And invested.

When your organization has as many employees as Nationwide Children’s Hospital, internal communication is key. And all communication pieces need to be efficient – this audience does NOT have time to wade through tons of content when there are sick kids who need them. We developed their first e-newsletter directed to all employees, along with the proper information hierarchy. Building off the e-newsletter, and with the same principles in mind, we redesigned their employee intranet, based on surveys, focus groups, best practice research and usability testing. The site includes newly developed page templates, a PeopleFinder search, and task-based navigation structure. And we know employee engagement has increased because when it came time to launch the internal fundraising campaign, participation increased by 26.6% over the previous year.
